Why this role is exciting

Want to see how a Worldcon is built? Be a Scribe! Sit in on meetings, take notes, see how decisions are made, get the inside scoop.

What you’ll actually do

As a scribe, you would be accurately documenting the key discussions, decisions, and action items for the Dublin 2029 team and committee meetings by taking clear, structured notes during meetings. This ensures that decisions, action items, and major discussion threads are captured clearly and are accessible to all relevant members.

Skills and experience

The job of Scribe requires strong written communication skills and attention to detail. Experience taking notes or minutes at meetings is a must. We can provide training and support on internal tools and templates.
Have a strong ability to listen for key points and summarise discussions clearly. You should be comfortable working in shared online document environments.

The work involved in the role

Attend meetings, work in shared documents, take notes, respond to emails from the Scribe Lead and others as needed.

Time commitment

Meetings are generally one hour long and may require 30 minutes to consolidate the notes afterwards. The number of meetings attended depends on how many scribes are available and how often. This job can be very flexible in time commitment. The more you want to help, the better.
